Smarter at Home is a weekly feature here at Smarter Admins where I share tips and tricks I’m learning as I try to “work smarter, not harder” at home. Tune in every Saturday morning for a new Smarter at Home feature!
Today I want to introduce you to Shannon Lush – my #1 inspiration for keeping a clean house.
Shannon’s first book, Spotless, introduced me to the world of bi-carb and vinegar about five years ago and I haven’t looked back since. If you don’t already use it, go try combining bi-carb and vinegar – it’s all sizzly and fun to use (and who thought housework could be FUN? Not me!)
I’ve got four of Shannon’s books and they have been invaluable. They’re all dog-eared, bookmarked and loved to death.

While I was Googling around to learn about Shannon, I discovered that she’s had a show on The Lifestyle channel (makes me wish I had pay TV!) and there are a heap of little videos of Shannon with tips and tricks. A lot of them I recognise from her books, but there’s something about watching something that you’ve read… I find them fascinating to watch (feel free to call my tragic!)
My goal for this week is to spend some time flicking through my Shannon collection and introducing some new ideas into my cleaning routine. Thanks, Shannon!
