Sick of the standard charts in PowerPoint?

Me too. I’ve done charts in PowerPoint to death and the designs are so boring now.

I’ve discovered a free add-in for PowerPoint called Oomfo. It works with Microsoft® Office® 2003, 2007 and 2010. It makes nice and clean charts for your PowerPoint presentations that are customisable.

Just download the file, install and start up PowerPoint. You access Oomfo in the Insert menu. Here’s a screenshot I took on my computer (I use Office 2010 on Windows 7, so it might look different to yours if you use different versions).

I quite like the functionality of the Oomfo add-in, even the little watermark it puts on the bottom of each chart it creates. It’s unobtrusive and I think acceptable for a free piece of software.

Oomfo doesn’t try too hard or go over the top. There are entrance animations and enough customisation options to keep it looking professional.

Do you install add-ins like this into PowerPoint, Word or Excel?
