Wednesday Afternoon Rant is a regular feature on Smarter Admins. Readers are invited to submit a rant, which will be posted on Smarter Admins anonymously.

The Wednesday Afternoon Rant is not meant to be nasty — instead, more of a light-hearted look at the ridiculous and mundane of our working lives that can get the better of us.

It can be as simple as how people leave spilled sugar on the kitchen counter or when people don’t tell you the fax machine’s run out of toner.

We chose Wednesday because “hump day” is often the toughest day in the office; the previous weekend too far gone to remember and the upcoming weekend too far away for our liking.

Points of note:

• Smarter Admins reserves the right to edit submissions for the purpose of clarity
• All submissions to Smarter Admins will remain anonymous. Names of colleagues, companies or any other identifying details will be removed from your submission; we don’t want you to get in trouble with your managers!
• Smarter Admins will never post your real name. We use a fake name using a naming system like the one used for naming cyclones. (We’ve started with “Amy”, will move on to “Bianca”, “Cassie”, etc)
• Smarter Admins is a safe-for-work blog and swearing will have to be removed
